Wildflower Center Presents: Nature Nights- Every Thursday in June

Nature Nights are free, family-friendly events held at the Ladybird Wildflower Center filled with exciting explorations of native plants, animals and the ecology of Central Texas. Each evening features interactive presentations, hikes with experts in their fields, and nature crafting for kids of all ages.

June 7: Outdoor Recreation
The free family fun begins with opportunities to get active outdoors — together! Hiking, climbing, games and more will get kids of all ages moving and exploring in nature.

June 14: Fantastic Creatures & Where to Find Them
Furry or scaled, nocturnal or diurnal, Texas animals are all around us. Learn about the mammals and reptiles who inhabit Hill Country landscapes and how to best observe and protect them.

June 21: Bats!
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s the nocturnal winged mammal Austin is best known for: bats! They live at the Congress Bridge, Bracken Cave, and in lots of nooks and crannies in between. Discover what makes these mysterious creatures so unique and important.

June 28: Water
From the Wildflower Center’s Dinosaur Creek to the cool depths of Barton Springs, water brings joy to Central Texans, especially in the summer. Learn how the wet stuff supports plant and animal life in areas conspicuous and hidden.
