Open Preserve Day at Yegua Knobbs Preserve

Saturday December 15th, PPLT is opening Yegua Knobs Preserve to the public for an Open Preserve Day! This preserve is usually accessed with prior approval by PPLT as it is habitat for the endangered Houston Toad and has a natural bog spring.

Come explore unique habitats such as the intriguing geology of the knobbs, rare plants and a spring fed bog. PPLT has partnered with USFWS and the US Forest Service to conduct habitat restoration on site, including prescribed burns.

You are welcome to drop by the preserve between 8:00am and 2:00pm to hike, wildlife watch, picnic and explore.

At 8:00 There will be a guided nature hike.

Please bring water as we have NO water on site.

Directions: The preserve is located at the end of Private Road 3051 off Knobbs Road in Lexington. Address: Pvt Rd 3051, Lexington, TX 78947. GPS Coordinates: 30.335862, -97.192240. Please do not drive into the preserve as it will be wet. Park outside the gate along the road.
