Please join the Blackland Chapter of the Native Prairie Association of Texas, for a day of touring 'Texas prairies and more'. 'Texas Prairies' refers to three fantastic prairies (one is an NPAT favorite, the beautiful Daphne Prairie near Mt. Vernon; two others have likely not been visited by many, the Matthews Cartwright-Roberts Prairie, near Terrell, and the Ebel Grassland Ranch near Sulphur Bluff.) The'and More' refers to a 'non-prairie' area not to miss, an historic forest near Clarksville. Lennox Woods Preserve is described as "an excellent old-growth woodland, containing fully mature, virgin timber". It encompasses 1,400 acres and provides refuge for a miriad of plants and animals!
The tour ends as we relax and enjoy dinner as guests of Franklin County Historical Association of the B.F. Hick Church Inn occupying 1.5 acres of beautiful blooming spring flowers, butterflies, and songbirds!
