I am pleased to announce our first class will be this Thursday, September 24, from 10:00 A.M. untill Noon. We are proud to say that the outdoor classroom at the Colorado River Refuge is ready and waiting for us to attend our first class. We have missed it and are very glad to report that it is in beautiful condition thanks to the loyal and dedicated Lost Pines Master Naturalists. This class is on turtles and our own Bill Brooks who is known to many as the turtle and snake whisperer will be teaching.
"Our fall nature classes are off like a stampeding herd of turtles. We will be starting our fall classes on Thursday September 24 at 10am at the Colorado River Refuge.
The subject will be turtles! If you have a pet turtle please bring it if you can. There are turtles on land, in ponds and rivers, and the ocean. We will be talking about the species found around here and on the Texas coast. Bill Brooks will be bringing Myrtle the snapping turtle and talking about how turtles survive in today's environment."
If you have any additions to our mailing list, please let me know. If there are any other adjustments needed - I will take care of that also.
Please bring water, good walking shoes, sunscreen, a turtle if you have one and yourselves. We will see you there! Marianna
