Join us December 14th at the Colorado River Refuge/Bastrop County Nature Park for a morning outdoors learning about Texas fossils and rocks. What's the difference between rocks and fossils? What rocks can we find in our ecoregion? Answer these questions and more after this lesson with our knowledgeable Lost Pines Master Naturalists leaders. A hike and activity will be included - lessons are geared towards ages 6-15, and are split into two groups by age.
Logistics:
Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water.
We are meeting at the outdoor classroom: 375 Riverside Dr, Bastrop, TX 78602.
Please arrive by 9:50 so we can begin promptly at 10:00. Classes go until approximately 12:00.
Please sign in when you arrive (Sign-in sheet includes liability waiver and photo release)
Due to a limited number of teacher volunteers, we are currently unable to offer classes more than once a month. If we are able to recruit more teachers, we will update you. As a guideline, classes are taught at a 6 yo and older level.
The health of you, your children and our teachers are of the utmost importance to us. Masks are now optional, but please respect everyone’s choice. If you, your children or anyone you have been in contact with has felt ill please stay home. If circumstances change considerably before the class we may update our protocol.
Because these classes are offered FREE to the community, please consider making a donation to Pines and Prairies Land Trust to support programs and stewardship of the Colorado River Refuge!
If our student limit has been reached, you’ll be placed on a waiting list and notified if spots reopen.
(By signing up you are also subscribing to our monthly e-newsletter but can unsubscribe at any time)
