Bees, butterflies, moths, hummingbirds, and other pollinators may be small, but they have a very important job. Kids will uncover some surprising facts about how pollinators find flowers and communicate with one another, explore why pollination is so important, and discover simple ways we can make our own gardens more welcoming to these busy little neighbors. Get ready to see your garden, and all its buzzing visitors, in a whole new way!
Our nature classes are geared towards ages 6-16 and lead by our knowledgeable Lost Pines Master Naturalist volunteers. All students should be accompanied by an adult, and most adults choose to learn along with us! Classes are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month, with a break during the hottest summer months.
Logistics:
Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water.
Feel free to bring snacks or a picnic lunch!
Meet at the outdoor classroom: 375 Riverside Dr, Bastrop, TX 78602.
Try to arrive by 9:50 so we can begin promptly at 10:00. Classes go until approximately 12:00.
Plan to sign in when you arrive (Sign-in sheet includes liability waiver and photo release)
