There’s a whole underwater world hiding beneath the Colorado River’s surface! Kids will meet some of the fish that call our local waters home, learn how to identify them, and discover what they need to find food, stay safe, and survive. Through hands-on exploration and close observation, we’ll take a closer look at the fascinating lives of our neighbors in the river.
Our nature classes are geared towards ages 6-16 and lead by our knowledgeable Lost Pines Master Naturalist volunteers. All students should be accompanied by an adult, and most adults choose to learn along with us! Classes are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month, with a break during the hottest summer months.
Logistics:
Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water.
Feel free to bring snacks or a picnic lunch!
Meet at the outdoor classroom: 375 Riverside Dr, Bastrop, TX 78602.
Try to arrive by 9:50 so we can begin promptly at 10:00. Classes go until approximately 12:00.
Plan to sign in when you arrive (Sign-in sheet includes liability waiver and photo release)
