“Partnering to Keep the Colorado River Clean”
Keep Smithville Beautiful (KSB) is proud to announce the 2026 Sustainable Home & Garden Show, taking place on October 17, 2026 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Railroad Park Pavilion in Smithville, Texas. Our town’s beauty and the health of the lower Colorado River are vital to our local quality of life and the ecosystems that depend on it.
A Smithville tradition since 2011, the Sustainable Home & Garden Show allows local and Bastrop County individuals, businesses and organizations to share their sustainability-related knowledge and resources with our community and visitors. This year we are on a mission to protect our waters. Every plastic bottle kept out of our streets and public spaces is one less piece of trash reaching the Colorado River which flows to Matagorda Bay and the Texas Gulf Coast. Our 2026 goals are ambitious:
● Challenge our schools and community with a plastic bottle collection and recycling drive backed by financial rewards.
● Transform waste into wonder through a school sustainable art contest.
● Empower residents and visitors by promoting sustainable practices with professional guidance on sustainable living for their homes, gardens and businesses.
