Tonight’s Stargazing event is canceled due to the extreme heat advisory and heavy cloud cover.
June 17th will be a new moon night - perfect for dark sky viewing and allowing our eyes to adjust to starlight alone. Come sprawl out across the gentle hills between the Knobbs formations, look up and soak it all in.
Where: McDade TX, near the Rising Sun Vineyard.
When: the preserve will be open from 8:30 pm - 12 am
What to bring: lawn chairs, blankets, pouch couches - whatever you want to sit or lay on, and a cooler of your favorite snacks and drinks. Be prepared with lots of bug spray, and personal illumination such as flashlights or head lamps.
Facilities: there is no running water on the preserve, but we do have a composting toilet outhouse!
Parking: Park along the northern fence line as directed.
Registration: please register with the form below so we can prepare for the number attending and make sure you have good directions to the preserve. Registration is free with a suggested small donation to help support Yegua Knobbs and our nature programming. After registering, keep an eye out for an email with more details prior to the event.
Check-in: Plan to stop at the check-in table when you arrive.
Board of Directors event leadership: Katie Larson and Ricardo Gonzolez
