Star Party at Yegua Knobbs Preserve

View the night sky through a powerful portable telescope, and see the waxing crescent moon and other planets, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and more.

This event is in partnership with the Austin Astronomical Society. Be sure to join us at 8:30 for a sky orientation presentation!

Where: McDade TX, near the Rising Sun Vineyard.

When: the preserve will be open from 8:00 pm - 12 am

What to bring: lawn chairs, blankets, pouch couches - whatever you want to sit or lay on, and a cooler of your favorite snacks and drinks. Be prepared with lots of bug spray, and personal illumination such as flashlights or head lamps.

Facilities: there is no running water on the preserve, but we do have a composting toilet outhouse!

Parking: Park along the northern fence line as directed.

Registration: please register with the form below so we can prepare for the number attending and make sure you have good directions to the preserve. Registration is free with a suggested small donation to help support Yegua Knobbs and our nature programming. After registering, keep an eye out for an email with more details prior to the event.
