September Nature Class at the Colorado River Refuge

  • 375 Riverside Dr. Bastrop, TX 78602 (map)

Pines and Prairies’ FREE Nature Classes are back! Join us this fall at the Colorado River Refuge for a season of exploration and fun.

This year we are adding a program for middle school and high school students in addition to our regular program for younger students. Each month the older students will be studying different aspects of water. In addition to this lesson they will also be testing the Colorado River as part of Colorado River Water Network which is part of the LCRA. By collecting water quality data we are able to see changes in the river over time and protect it from unwanted changes. Please share this widely since it is our first year offering this water program for older students.

The younger students will continue to have new topics each week with a lesson, hike and activity. In September this group will also be getting an introduction into water quality.

Please wear close toed shoes and bring a water bottle.

We are meeting at the outdoor classroom: 375 Riverside Dr, Bastrop, TX 78602.

Please arrive by 9:50 so we can begin promptly at 10:00. Classes go until approximately 12:00.

Because these classes are offered FREE to the community, please consider making a donation to Pines and Prairies Land Trust to support programs and stewardship of the Colorado River Refuge!
