Join us with our friends from Austin Astronomical Society for a night under the stars (and full moon!). AAS will have volunteers with their amazing telescopes and equipment to provide a tour of the night sky and answer questions. registration required for directions and other timely information.

From AAS: “In order to ensure that everyone has a great (and safe) time, please check out the Star Party Etiquette. It details the “dos and don’t s” of night observing, including how to protect your eyes and how to keep the viewing field as dark as possible.” This includes turning off vehicle headlights as you enter the parking area, use of insect repellent, etc.

Bring a chair or blanket, binoculars, drinks and snacks for this family friendly event.

Keep in mind that YKP is a rural property with one composting toilet and no running water.

in order to keep volunteer equipment and everyone safe, please do not bring pets and ensure your children are always under your care. people under 16 years old may not attend without an adult.
