Trees each have their own shapes, leaves, bark, stories, and personalities. We’ll take a tree walk in the preserve and learn some simple tricks for identifying the trees around us, then bring our observations back to life through tree-inspired art and even a poet-tree! Along the way, we’ll explore why trees matter and how getting to know them can help us appreciate the world right outside our door.
Our nature classes are geared towards ages 6-16 and lead by our knowledgeable Lost Pines Master Naturalist volunteers. All students should be accompanied by an adult, and most adults choose to learn along with us! Classes are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month, with a break during the hottest summer months.
Logistics:
Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water.
Feel free to bring snacks or a picnic lunch!
Meet at the outdoor classroom: 375 Riverside Dr, Bastrop, TX 78602.
Try to arrive by 9:50 so we can begin promptly at 10:00. Classes go until approximately 12:00.
Plan to sign in when you arrive (Sign-in sheet includes liability waiver and photo release)
