First Saturday Service Day at Yegua Knobbs Preserve

  • Pines and Prairies Land Trust McDade, TX (map)

In June were are moving our First Saturday Service Day to Yegua Knobbs Preserve to support habitat restoration for native birds and other wildlife. Our goal is to finish a firebreak along the preserve boundary in order to protect our neighbors before scheduling any prescribed burns. We will be hand clearing brush and trimming up trees in this sensitive habitat in a 12-15’ wide path. Laurie will lead this work day and can describe the project in more detail.

Regular CRR volunteers may want to carpool out from Tahitian Village, if so let us know below!

Plan to bring lots of water, tools (loppers, chain and hand saws, etc.) and wear long pants and shirts and closed-toe shoes. Much of the work area is in the shade but sun protection is also recommended.

Please register here so we can prepare for the number attending and make sure everyone gets good directions to the preserve. After registering, you’ll be automatically taken to our waiver, so please also fill that out for 2022 if you haven’t already done so!
