Bird City Event: "Little Hike” birding and photography fun!

  • Colorado River Refuge 357 Lamaloa Lane Bastrop, TX, 78602 United States (map)

Bird City Bastrop Event: You’re invited to the monthly "Little Hike” which is a birding and photography gathering. Birding for beginners!

What is a LITTLE HIKE? It’s a gentle morning birdwatching hike with a focus on photography! The participants see how many birds can be documented and added to eBird while hiking. It’s great for beginners because more experienced folks will be around to offer guidance.

This is one of the monthly Little Hike. Wear your long pants and boots, hats and sunscreen. Bring binoculars and cameras, and of course drinking water.

We meet every 2nd Friday from 8:30-10:00am in different parks, trails and sweet spots around Bastrop County. Suggested locations always welcome!

Meet at the Dragonfly trailhead: 357 Lamaloa Lane

We recommend 2 apps:
1) Merlin Bird ID (by Cornell Lab) for identifying birds and
2) eBird (from Cornell Lab of Ornithology) for submitting your checklists of spotted birds.

Download apps, create an account, and then let the apps use your location to recommend a bird pack to download. Then explore!
