Volunteer Work Day at Yegua Knobbs Preserve

  • Pines and Prairies Land Trust McDade, TX (map)

Join PPLT’s Executive Director at Yegua Knobbs as we work on various projects, including preparing and marking trails and hand-clearing brush in sensitive areas. A few willing folks may also spray brush (tbd). If you’d like, make and bring out some homemade signs to mark our trails! It can be as simple as an arrow or a funny rhyme. They’ll have to be mounted on a post or stake, so keep that in mind. Email me if you’re interested in sign making: melanie@pplt.org

Please bring water, snacks, loppers, saws and other hand-held equipment you may have and your own personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, etc.). Wear long sleeves, pants and closed-toe shoes. This is required for those using herbicide.

Please register here so we can prepare for the number attending and make sure you have good directions to the preserve. Keep an eye out for an email with more details prior to the work day. After registering, you’ll be automatically taken to our waiver. Please fill that out even if you’ve already done that or are only cutting yaupon, due to the possibility some may be using herbicide on site.

Note: triclopyr is the herbicide we use and does not require a license. Label info here.
