Open Preserve Day at Yegua Knobbs

We are excited to be able to open Yegua Knobbs Preserve for a day outside with your family or friends. Yegua Knobbs Preserve spans over 300 acres of land unique to the Central Texas landscape including: piney woods, a spring fed bog, ties to local history as well as rare insects and orchids!

This property is undergoing extensive wildlife habitat restoration in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife - please plan to leave no trace and pack out any trash.

Where: McDade, TX

When: You are welcome to drop by the preserve any time between 9:30am and 1:30 pm to hike, watch wildlife, picnic and explore.

How to prepare: please bring plenty of drinking water, bug spray and your favorite trail snacks. Long pants, hiking boots or close-toed shoes are highly recommend.

Facilities: there is no running water on the preserve, but we do have a composting toilet outhouse!

Parking: Park along the northern fence line as directed.

Registration: please register with the form below so we can prepare for the number attending and make sure you have good directions to the preserve. After registering, keep an eye out for an email with more details prior to the event.

Registration is free with a suggested small donation to help support Yegua Knobbs and our nature programming.

Check-in: Plan to stop at the check-in table when you arrive.
